Bringing Family to the Dinner Table

When 5:30p.m. rolls around, not everyone has the time or wants to spend the energy to cook a full meal. We often justify that it makes sense to load everyone in the car and speed off to the nearest restaurant and have someone else do the cooking so we can focus on what matters – quality time with the family. At Alesci’s we couldn’t agree more when it comes to making meal time convenient, healthy, and shared with the ones that matter most!

Here is our list of healthy meal options you can pick up at our store and have ready for those days when you are on the go, when you need a break or you just want to enjoy a change of pace! Because family dinner should be spent in your home where the memories happen around your table.

Build Your Own Pizza!

It’s not just dinner, it’s an activity! This is the perfect dinner for all ages and for a family with differing food preferences. At Alesci’s you can get all the fixings you need to build a healthy, wholesome, authentic pizza within minutes. Make it a traditional red sauce with pepperoni or mix it up and sophisticate it with some truffle oil. Have a theme, name your pizza, the sky’s the limit! Turn it into a math activity and count the toppings, review fractions when cutting slices, divide pieces and share around the table!  How artistic can you be with fruits and veggies? Pick out new ingredients from our shelves and try something you’d never dare order at a restaurant! Add a side salad and you’ve got dinner!

Bonus: Make your own signature salad dressing with just a few ingredients and shake it up!

Pasta Buffet!

Ever have farfalle? How about Ruote? Rotini? You may know these noodles by their more common name: bow tie, wagon wheels and twists. Kick up your regular spaghetti and meatballs and experiment with a pasta buffet! Scour our shelves and you’ll find a variety of pasta to choose from and more than several kinds of sauces to compliment. Everyone can create their own unique combinations. Top it all off with an adventurous selection of toppings like kalamata olives, anchovies, capers or a combination of cheeses! This is a great option for families of all ages, study groups and potlucks.

Bonus: Make your own sauce. Have fun learning about spices, red and white sauces and agile e olio!
